How to Make a Cartography Table in Minecraft

Today, we’re gonna learn how to make a cartography table in Minecraft! This is a really cool item that allows you to create and clone maps, which is super helpful if you want to explore the Minecraft world or build a giant castle!

So first things first, let’s talk about what you need to make a cartography table. You’re gonna need four wooden planks and two pieces of paper. The wooden planks can be any type of wood, so don’t worry too much about that. The paper can be crafted by placing three sugar canes vertically in a crafting table.

Once you’ve got your materials, go ahead and open up your crafting table. Place the four wooden planks in the corners and the two pieces of paper in the center, and voila! You’ve got yourself a cartography table!

Now that you’ve got your cartography table let’s talk about what you can do with it. As I mentioned earlier, you can use it to create and clone maps. To do this, you’ll need an empty map and some materials to expand the map.

    maps

To create a map, simply place an empty map in the top slot of the cartography table and some paper in the bottom slot. The paper will be consumed, and the map will be expanded to show a larger area of the Minecraft world.

To clone a map, place the original map in the top slot and a piece of paper in the bottom slot. The paper will be consumed, and you’ll get an exact copy of the original map.

But wait, there’s more! The cartography table also allows you to lock maps, which prevents them from being expanded or cloned. This is really useful if you want to keep a specific map of an area without worrying about it getting changed or duplicated.

To lock a map, place a glass pane in the top slot and the map you want to lock in the bottom slot. The glass pane will be consumed and the map will be locked. You can unlock the map by placing it back in the cartography table with a piece of paper.

So that’s pretty much it! The cartography table is a really useful tool for exploring and mapping out the Minecraft world. I hope this tutorial was helpful and that you’ll be able to use your new cartography table to create all sorts of cool maps!
